The Polinsky Language Sciences Lab at Harvard University (http://www.fas.harvard.edu/~herpro/home.htm) invites applications for a part-time position of Lab Manager. PLSL, under the supervision of Prof. Maria Polinsky of Harvard Linguistics (http://www.fas.harvard.edu/~lingdept/f_polinsky.html), is an inclusive and inspiring environment for researchers in the language sciences at Harvard and beyond. Areas of research include syntactic and semantic processing, with a unique focus on the psycholinguistic investigation of understudied languages, including Mayan, Caucasian and Austronesian languages as well as heritage languages.
Duties include preparation of experimental materials, scripting and running experiments in the lab and online, preparing experimental data for analysis, visualizing data, and performing statistical analysis. The individual will also be responsible for maintaining the lab website and wiki, recruiting and scheduling experimental subjects as well as managing of funds for subject compensation and equipment maintenance.
This is a one year appointment from date of hire with possibility of extension for future years pending funding.
