Executive Director, Center for European Studies, University of Florida
The Center for European Studies (CES) at the University of Florida is conducting a search for an Executive Director. Primary responsibilities are to execute the programmatic activities of CES in a professionally efficient and effective manner, in compliance with university, federal and foreign granting agency requirements. These duties include but are not restricted to grants budget management, preparation of grant reports and applications, the administrative management of the CES office, and supervision of CES staff. Additional responsibilities include advising graduate and undergraduate students enrolled in CES-sponsored UF-based and study abroad academic programs with tracking and degree requirements, assisting students in identifying research, internship and career opportunities, and assisting CES faculty with program building in its various programs, e.g. Polish Studies, Turkish Studies, Czech Studies.
Master’s degree in area relevant to European Studies; or a bachelor’s degree in area relevant to European Studies and two years of appropriate experience. PhD preferred. The ideal candidate will have experience managing budgets and grants, and with student advising; strong written and verbal communication and computer skills. Salary is commensurate with experience. CES is a nationally visible Title VI-funded center with a range of language and area-studies programs related to
