Kurt R. Hansen, tenor; Karina Kontorovitch and Ruth Lin, piano

Brahms Lieder,
Rachmaninov Romances,
Mendelssohn Duets

A frequent performer in opera and oratorio worldwide, tenor Kurt Hansen has performed as a soloist under such conductors as Sir Georg Solti and Claudio Abbado. Karina Kontorovitch earned bachelor and master of music degrees in piano performance from Northwestern and currently teaches at the Merit School of Music in addition to serving as a vocal coach and accompanist at Northwestern and at DePaul University. Ruth Lin earned her doctoral degree in orchestral conducting at Northwestern and currently directs the symphony orchestra at Minnesota’s Gustavus Adolphus College. As the Lin-Kontorovitch piano duo, both pianists were featured on the Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concerts series on WFMT. Hansen, Kontorovitch, and Lin present music of Mendelssohn, Brahms, and Rachmaninoff for voice and piano and piano duo.
