Afonso Henriques Moreira Santos is the former director of Aneel the brazilian energy regulatory agency and has accumulated 29 years of experience in the energy sector. Mr. Moreira Santos served in that role from 1997 to 2000, after which he was Secretary of Energy until 2002, and president of the Brazilian Society for Energy Planning from 2004 to 2006. Currently Mr. Moreira Santos works as a researcher developing projects in the area of regulation, energy planning and natural resources. Adding to his role as a professor he also provides consulting services to public and private institutions related to the areas of generation, regulation and pricing in the energy sector.
