Fukushima, Feb. 23 (Jiji Press)–An evacuation advisory issued after Japan’s worst nuclear accident will likely be lifted on April 1 in part of the city of Tamura in Fukushima Prefecture, northeastern Japan.

The Japanese government explained the plan to lift the advisory for the city’s Miyakoji district on that day at a meeting with residents from the district on Sunday.

The Miyakoji district was included in the former no-go zone set within 20 kilometers from Tokyo Electric Power Co.’s <9501> Fukushima No. 1 nuclear plant, which has been at the center of the crisis since it was stricken by the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami.

It will be the first time for the evacuation advisory to be lifted for an area in the former exclusion zone. Residents from the Miyakoji district will be able to return to their homes there permanently after the advisory is removed.
