India to launch Kudankulam nuclear power plant by end 2013 via The Voice of Russia

The Kudankulam nuclear power plant in southern India will be launched by the end of 2012, Indian President Pranab Mukherjee has told the parliament Thursday, stressing the security of nuclear facilities was the government’s primal objective.

The first energy unit of the long-due power station has been finished with the help of Russian experts. The Indo-Russian joint venture was set up on Nov. 20, 1988, with an additional agreement signed on June 21, 1998.
