Mayors for Peace’ given Peace Prize by U.N. Association of Spain via The Mainichi Daily News

HIROSHIMA (Kyodo) — The United Nations Association of Spain has awarded its 32nd Peace Prize to the “Mayors for Peace,” a nongovernmental organization seeking to abolish nuclear arms by 2020, the Hiroshima city government said Thursday.

The Barcelona-based NGO annually confers the prize on individuals or organizations that hve contributed to the promotion of peace and the defense human rights.  Past winners include former Soviet Union President Mikhail Gorbachev and South African President Nelson Mandela.
