80 volunteers help scrub radiation via The Japan Times Online

FUKUSHIMA — Around 80 volunteers from across the country gathered Saturday in the city of Fukushima to begin decontaminating areas affected by radioactive materials emitted by the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear plant.

The municipal government distributed gloves, masks and dosimeters to the volunteers before the cleanup work, which includes weeding and picking up fallen leaves, got under way.
