Evacuation advisory outside 20-km exclusion zone lifted via The Japan Times online

The government will lift its evacuation advisory for areas outside the 20-km exclusion zone surrounding the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear plant, Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano said Tuesday, marking progress in the fight to contain the crisis.

The government will lift the advisory for five municipalities — the town of Hirono and some districts in Naraha, Kawauchi, Tamura and Minamisoma — after determining that the situation at the power plant is stable and the areas are now safe.
