Nagoya — Chubu Electric Power Co. was set to begin work Thursday to halt the Hamaoka nuclear power plant’s No. 4 reactor, sources said Wednesday.

Power generation at the reactor in Shizuoka Prefecture is expected to stop seven to eight hours after the procedure begins, with cold shutdown following in about a day.
