Phoenixfest Alumni Event

Join us September 24 or 25 for the University of Chicago’s annual Phoenixphest event in 15+ cities across the U.S. and around the world. Phoenixphest is a decadelong tradition bringing graduates together for refreshments, conversation, and networking in their own cities.

Chicago’s event will be held on the 24th, at
Eivissa
1531 N Wells Street
Chicago, IL 60610
It will run from 6:30 to 8:30PM.

According to the website, “it’s one party you won’t want to miss.” Especially enticing for recent grads is the fact that members of the class of ‘09 don’t have to pay the admission charge, which is $15 in advance, or $20 at the door.

MAPH Reunion Early Registration Deadline Extended

Hey MAPHers,

Great news– the Alumni Association has extended the early registration deadline until NEXT Friday, April 15. So, you still have the chance to get $10 off of your MAPH Reunion admission fee, making the event FREE!!

MAPH Reunion early registration deadline is extended!

Greetings MAPHers!

Good news, early registration for the MAPH Alumni Reunion has been extended until Friday, May 8th. If you register by this date, you will get $10 off the price of the event, making it FREE for you (though additional guests will still have to pay $10). As a reminder, the event will be at 7pm on Friday, June 5th at Bin 36 in downtown Chicago.

Alumni Weekend MAPH Reunion—Early Registration!

Hey MAPHers!

Alumni Weekend is quickly approaching which means that the MAPH Reunion
is coming up! This year we’ll be meeting on Friday, June 5 for cocktails
and appetizers at Bin 36, located at 339 N. Dearborn in downtown Chicago.

Tickets are only $10 each, but if you register by Friday, April 24 you will get a $10 discount off of your total alumni weekend registration package (that’s right, it’s free for the Reunion if you’re

MAPH alumni speak at writers conference

Last week, alumni poets gathered in Classics 110 to read to a room of current and former students, through the Association of Writers and Writing Programs conference. The four poets who spoke included two MAPH’ers, Shaindel Beers ‘00 and Kiki Petrosino ‘04, both reading from forthcoming or recently published collections. Alumni Happy Hour Returns!

Hey afterMAPHers, once again it has been far too long since we gathered for a MAPH alumni happy hour, but fear not. This is about to be rectified, and you can help by joining your fellow MAPH alums at Sullys House. One of your fellows, Peter Adams (MAPH ‘04), is the GM at this recently opened watering hole, and has promised to treat us to a fabulous night of excellent beverage, and fabulous pub food (and if that isn’t enough enticement, there is appearently some device called a Wii that has something to do with a 100“ HD projection screen… Anyway if your in Chicago you should make you way there, and as always MAPH is picking up the bill.

Hey MAPH Alums!

The MAPH Reunion is approaching and as part of the reunion committee, it is my great pleasure to invite you to join me and your fellow MAPHers, preceptors, faculty and friends for an evening of celebration as the University hosts its annual Alumni Weekend. Last year we has the most successful Reunion of any program campus-wide! So, I hope you will mark your calendars as we gather together again to celebrate all that we have accomplished. Our private MAPH Reunion will take place on Friday, June 6 at Landmark Grill and Lounge, located at 1633 North Halsted. Tickets are $20, with a discount of $10 if you register before April 25.
